I’m considering purchasing some paid tiers of Buttons, but I’m concerned that there appears to be no community here to collaborate and support this product. Am I missing a different place where people and the developers are participating that isn’t this forum? Only 9 topics with 5 replies? Would I be buying into a product with no user base?
What I can say is that email support has helped me out with most things that I’ve run into so far. And I would agree these forums, while good intentioned, just are not widely seen enough. Only a few companies have managed to pull off excellent private forums. In reality, even in those cases, the Facebook groups really is the most common place these days for unofficial support.
In the case of Buttons, I think people are going to the Companion related FB groups. However, given there is a lot of unique things with Buttons, I just created an unofficial, but specific to Buttons Facebook Group - you can find it at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1590603999154640
As far as a user base, as a new product it likely isn’t anywhere near the adoption rate of Companion, but it is still relatively new. Looking at the official YouTube training videos most are viewed around 1k times, so I think that might give you an idea on the size of the user base, and its only going to grow. I believe it won an award at NAB lately, so I’m sure that will help grow its adoption.
Thanks, @Jason_Olson. Bitfocus support also invited me to the community Slack channel (https://bfoc.us/ke7e9dqgaz) that I didn’t know existed. It appears there is much more activity over there than on these forums.
